Accra Hearts of Oak return home to Accra Sports Stadium for Ghana Premier League's second round

Accra Hearts of Oak has made a significant announcement regarding their home venue for the remainder of the Ghana Premier League (GPL) season.

After a series of venue changes during the first round, including adopting the Baba Yara Stadium and the Sogakope Park, the club has confirmed their return to their traditional home ground, the Accra Sports Stadium.

The decision came after the National Sports Authority (NSA) gave clearance for the Accra Sports Stadium to host league matches, prompting Hearts of Oak to reclaim their familiar turf.

In a statement posted on their official Facebook page, the club said "We have been granted permission to play our GPL match-day-18 game against RTU at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, 25th February, 2024."

The Accra Sports Stadium holds immense value for Hearts of Oak and their supporters, as it has been the club's home ground for many years.

The timing of the return couldn't be more crucial, as the 2023/2024 Ghana Premier League is set to resume on February 24th.

Hearts of Oak, who endured a challenging first round, currently sit in 11th place on the league table with 21 points and will hope to return to winning ways this weekend.
