Assistant coach of Ghana, John Paintsil, has filed a lawsuit against Multimedia Group, Omni Media Limited, Angel Broadcasting Network, and four individuals over forgery comments made against him following his recent appointment.

The defendants, which include Patrick Osei Agyemang popularly known as Countryman Songo, Christopher Nimeley, Saddick Adams, and Veronica Commey, are accused of making false claims about Paintsil's coaching credentials.

A writ of summons sighted by Footballghana.com lists seven defendants, with Paintsil as the plaintiff.

Saddick Adams, during a program on Angel FM in Accra, called for an investigation into Paintsil's alleged forgery. Meanwhile, Countryman Songo, on his popular Fire for Fire program on Adom FM, verbally attacked Paintsil over the alleged fake certificate.

John Paintsil was named as assistant coach to Black Stars head coach Otto Addo ahead of Ghana's friendly games against Nigeria and Uganda in Marrakech.

Defendants will likely respond to the lawsuit in the coming days.
