Dutch Ghanaian defender Raphael Sarfo signs professional contract with Ajax

Highly-talented Dutch Ghanaian young defender, Raphael Sarfo, has officially penned a milestone moment in his career by securing a professional contract with none other than Ajax.

Sarfo, 19, signed a one-year contract with the possibility of a two-year extension after being promoted to the first team.

He took to his Instagram page to express his joy after signing the professional contract.

"Thank God for signing my first contract for Ajax," he wrote on Instagram.

The right wing defender, who can also play as a right winger, made his Jong Ajax debut in 2022/23. Sarfo was permitted to play for Dave Vos' U21 squad again on Friday.

He came on for Diyae Jermoumi fifteen minutes before the end of the away game against FC Groningen.

Sarfo has been at Ajax since 2012, progressing through the ranks of the Dutch club's famed youth system.

The powerful defender has made two appearances for the reserve team, making his debut in September against Heracles Almelo.

As he continues his growth with the Dutch giants, he is anticipated to compete for a starting spot in the first squad.
