AshantiGold SC midfielder, Seth Osei has insisted he is innocent of the match-fixing scandal that rocked the country during the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League season.

The 24-year-old has been slapped with 30 months ban for playing a vital in the game that ended 7-2 against Inter Allies at the Obuasi Len Stadium in the matchday 34 games.

Speaking in an interview, the midfielder reiterated that he is innocent and was involved in the decision to play a match of convenience.

"I am innocent and I am not worried about this ban," he told Kumasi-based Pure FM.

"I have no idea about this because I was not involved in this scandal and for me, this ban will not stand.

"I never had communication with any player ahead of the game and that is my worry.

"This ban will not stand because I am innocent," he added.

Meanwhile, AshantiGold SC have been demoted to Division Two with a fine of Ghc100,000.
