Augsburg defender Patric Pfeiffer has explained why he switched allegiance from Germany to Ghana.

Pfeiffer's decision to switch nationalities was announced two years ago but faced delays due to passport issues.

But the 24-year-old, who featured for the European country at youth level has finally completed his nationality switch to play for the Black Stars.

And according to him, the decision to switch allegiance to play for the Black Stars is as a result of the love he has for his native country.

“Ghana is my motherland. I love the vibes and the food. I was born and raised in Germany but I love Ghana” he told IDiski Times in an interview.

Pfeiffer's addition to the Ghanaian team is expected to strengthen their defense, and his love for the country and its culture makes him a great fit.
