Former Asante Kotoko captain, Emmanuel Gyamfi, has expressed sympathy to his former club as their fortunes continue to dwindle this season.

The team's head coach, Prosper Ogum, has been under sustained pressure in the latter part of the season, given the team has won only one league game in 2024.

The Porcupine Warriors have suffered six defeats in their last seven league matches, resulting in strained relations between management and the fans.

Fans disrupted the club's training session on Tuesday, April 16, aiming to stop the training activities and call for the removal of the former WAFA boss.

Few weeks back, Kotoko lost 2-0 to Aduana but Gyamfi says the team showed good structure despite the defeat.

"Even though we [Aduana] beat them at Dormaa, their performance on the day showed they meant business, they were up to something,” Gyamfi told Ghanasportspage.com.

“So whoever condemns his performance as a coach, I will strongly disagree with that person, it’s rather unfortunate that things haven’t gone the way they wanted it."
