LA Galaxy head coach, Greg Vanney, has commended Ghana forward Joseph Paintsil for his performance as a number nine in their 3-1 win over Vancouver Whitecaps on Sunday morning.

The 26-year-old played some portitions of the game as a centre forward, with his coach describing his movement in the game as smart.

He was then moved out to his favourite right wing position where he scored and also provided an assist in the game.

Speaking after the game, Gregg was full of praise for Joseph Paintsil.

“It’s not a position he’s played a ton of, but I thought his movement was smart. I thought his work rate was excellent,” head coach Greg Vanney said.

“Then at the end of the game, we switched it. We put him back on the outside and moved Riqui to the middle and got him flying from the outside, which is where the goal came from.”

Since joining in the winter transfer window, Paintsil has scored three goals and provided three assists in eight appearances for La Galaxy.
