Fenerbahçe SK defender Alexander Djiku has expressed the team’s determination to secure a victory against FC Lugano in the second round of UEFA Champions League qualifiers.
The Swiss side will host the Turkish club at Stockhorn Arena later tonight for the first leg.
Speaking on Monday ahead of the match, the Ghana international acknowledged Lugano's strength but emphasized that Fenerbahçe is well-prepared and cohesive for the encounter, aiming for nothing less than a win.
"Lugano is a strong team. Last season, they finished second in their league and have proven they can score goals. We are eager for the match and ready to perform," Djiku said.
"We have played numerous friendly matches and feel fully prepared. We aim to start strong with this first official game. Regardless of whether we are playing at home or away, our goal is to win every match," he added.
The match is set to kick off at 18:30 GMT.
The 29-year-old Djiku, who joined Fenerbahçe last summer, has had a stellar season, featuring prominently throughout the campaign.
Despite his efforts, the team narrowly missed out on the league title to rivals Galatasaray.
