St. Johnstone FC manager, Craig Levein has spoken highly of Ghanaian teenager Aaron Essel.

According to the manager, the midfielder has big potential and the talent to become a top player.

“Aaron is a young lad who has potential and he has a lot of the required skillsets to be a good player. He trained with us for about 10 days towards the end of last season and did really well.

“As we saw on Saturday against Arbroath, he can play in centre midfield. But he can also play full-back and at centre-back. We will see what time brings but he has impressed with his all-round ability,” St. Johnstone FC manager Craig Levein said.

He was speaking to the St. Johnstone FC media team on Monday after the club sealed the signing of the Ghanaian midfielder.

In a club statement confirming the deal, the Scottish side said the player signed a three-year contract.

“We are delighted to confirm the signing of Ghana youth international Aaron Essel, subject to international clearance.

“The versatile 18-year-old, who can play in midfield or defence, has agreed a three-year deal at McDiarmid Park,” St. Johnstone FC said in an official statement.
