Wakaso throws back to 2005 U-17 World Cup

Jiangsu Suning F.C midfielder Mubarak Wakaso has thrown back to the 2005 FIFA U-17 World Cup where he was part of Ghana’s squad.

At that tournament, a young Wakaso was given a starting role for the Black Starlets to play against Peru.

Less than 10 minutes into the match, Mubarak Wakaso had been shown the red card and had to leave the pitch.

Prior to his sending off though, his work ethic, eye for a long pass, his strength, and long drive has been evident as he caught the eye of many.

Ghana finished all of its Group games unbeaten but without a win, forcing the team to be eliminated.

In a reaction to a post by Sports Journalist Saddick Adams, Wakaso has been taken back to that time and has revealed that watching the match again on tv made him sad.
