The head coach of Ghana’s U20 national team, Desmond Ofei is confident his side will do well at the upcoming African Games in Accra.

Nicknamed the Black Satellites, the Ghana U20 team has been placed in Group A of the football tournament of the African Games and will compete with The Gambia, Congo, and Benin.

Speaking ahead of the games, Coach Desmond Ofei said his Black Satellites won’t make the mistake of underestimating any opponent.

“We are really working hard ahead of the tournament so we were not really looking at the draw because whoever we come up against I am sure we will be ready.

“You cannot underestimate any country. Its not going to be easy but a nation like Ghana cannot be afraid of any opponent,” Coach Desmond Ofei said as quoted on the website of the Ghana FA.

He continued, “We are on schedule, in the coming weeks we will focus on finetuning. We have really strong and individual quality players so now its about putting together a good team so that we can compete.”

The 13th edition of the African Games will be staged in Accra from March 8-23, 2024.
