A second-half penalty kick converted by Naby Keita has handed Asante Kotoko a narrow 1-0 win over Inter Allies FC in the Ghana Premier League.

Nicknamed the Porcupine Warriors, the team from Kumasi hosted the Capelli Boys at the Accra Sports Stadium today in a fixture that is serving as a matchday 12 encounter in the 2020/2021 Ghanaian top-flight league campaign.

In the first half when the two teams had good moments, neither side could get on the scoresheet and went into the break on level pegging.

After recess, Asante Kotoko upped their game and pushed on in search of the equalizer.

Eventually, in the 68th minute, the home team was awarded a penalty kick and a good chance to take the lead.

Accepting the responsibility, striker Naby Keita expertly converted to shoot Asante Kotoko into the lead.

With Inter Allies FC unable to get back into the game, the capital-based club has suffered another defeat and remains bottom of the Ghana Premier League table.

For Kotoko, the team climbs to third with 20 points from the 12 matches they have played.
