2019/2020 Ghana Premier League Match Week 6 Report: Ebusua Dwarfs 2-1 Dreams FC

Published on: 27 January 2020

Cape Coast-based Ebusua Dwarfs have recorded their first win of the ongoing 2019/2020 Ghana Premier League season after posting a 2-1 win over Dreams FC today.

The side went into today's fixture as the underdogs after failing to pick a single point from their first five matches of the season. In that run, they played four winless games against Robert Raymond Essibu before deciding to sack him.

The management of the club subsequently appointed Ernest Thomas Quartey as the new head coach for the side in hopes of engineering a revival to get the team out of the relegation zone.

After losing his first match in charge of the team against Kumasi Asante Kotoko, the gaffer has today led his side to win their first game of the campaign.

A goal each from Seidu Abubakar and Albert Hammond in the first and second half respectively has ensured that the struggling team bags its first 3 points.

Though Dreams Fc got a consolation goal in added time in the second half through Kwame Otu it was not enough to save them from the defeat.

Despite the win, Ebusua Dwarfs remain bottom of the Ghana Premier League. They are 3 points shy of clubs outside the relegation zone and can climb out if they get positive results from subsequent matches.
