2021/22 Ghana Premier League matchday 9: King Faisal shows resilience to beat Dreams FC 3-2

King Faisal have reclaimed the top spot on the Ghana Premier League table after fighting to defeat Dreams FC 3-2 on Tuesday afternoon.

The team from Kumasi today hosted its matchday 9 opponent of the 2021/2022 Ghanaian top-flight league after no action over the past weekend.

Having started the game on a bright note, King Faisal took the lead after just five minutes courtesy of a strike from talented attacker Zubairu Ibrahim.

Although Agyenim Boateng will equalize for Dreams FC a minute after the half-hour mark, the hosts will immediately restore their lead through a strike from Enock Morrison three minutes later.

Later in added minutes before the break, defender Habib Mohammed scored an own goal that doubled the advantage for King Faisal.

In the second half of exciting action, Kwaku Karikari netted a second goal for Dreams FC in the 66th minute but it was not enough to save the side from the 3-2 defeat at the end of the 90 minutes.

Courtesy of today’s win, King Faisal are top of the Ghana Premier League with 20 points from 9 matches this season.
