2022/23 Ghana Premier League Week 31 wrap: Aduana Stars suffer shock as Medeama SC go top of league table

Week 31 of the ongoing 2022/23 Ghana Premier League season has come to an end.  

The final match of the round was played on Monday, May 22, when Kotoku Royals faced off with Asante Kotoko.

At the end of an exciting contest that ensued between the two top-flight clubs, the Porcupine Warriors secured all three points after winning 3-1.

Before today’s game, there had been some interesting results from over the weekend.

League leaders from Week 30, Aduana Stars were shocked on Saturday when Accra Lions hammered the side 3-0.

On Sunday, Medeama SC capitalized on the lapse by Aduana Stars and thrashed Hearts of Oak 5-1 at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Courtesy of that win, the Yellow and Mauve side has climbed to the top of the Ghana Premier League table.

Meanwhile, the relegation battle in the division is now between Great Olympics and King Faisal.

Kotoku Royals have already been relegated with three matches left to be played.
