2023/24 Ghana Premier League: Week 33 Match Preview - Bibiani Gold Stars v Medeama

Published on: 07 June 2024

Bibiani Goldstars and Medeama will lock horns in the penultimate Ghana Premier League clash scheduled for Sunday.

The highly competitive game will be played at the Duns Park, as both teams will be yearning for maximum points.

Both teams go into the clash on the back of defeats in their previous games in the domestic top-flight. Goldstars succumbed to a 1-0 defeat to Samartex, propelling the Timber giants to annex the league title whiles the Yellow and Mauve fell to Heart of Lions at the Akoon Community Park.

However, both teams will be hoping to bounce back from their defeat in the much-anticipated encounter.

Goldstars have recorded just a win in their last five games of the campaign, losing two and drawing two games across the period whiles Medeama has three wins, one defeat and one stalemate in their last five matches.

Since December 2021, the two teams have met five times in the Ghana Premier League. Medeama are better off in terms of head to head, having won two, drawn two and suffered just a defeat.

In their last two games, the Tarkwa-based club has recorded two consecutive victories over Goldstars.

Goldstars are currently 11th on the league standings with 43 points whiles Medeama occupies third spot with 49 accumulated points.

The Yellow and Mauve are tied on points with Aduana Stars and must ensure they win the remaining two games to finish the season on a high.
