2023 U23 Africa Cup of Nations: Ghana to face Guinea in must-win game on Friday after Morocco humiliation
Ghana's U23 male national team, the Black Meteors, is going into a must-win game against Guinea in their final Group A match at the ongoing 2023 U23 Africa Cup of Nations (AF).
The final group game will be played on Friday, June 30, 2023.
This was necessitated by Ibrahim Tanko's team's 5-1 defeat to the host nation, Morocco, on Tuesday night.
The Black Meteors endured a terrible start to both halves and were simply sloppy throughout the game, coupled with poor organization and defending.
With the loss, Ghana is third in the group with 3 points from their opening two games, behind Guinea due to goal difference.
The Atlas Lions are on top of the group with 6 points after edging out Guinea in the opening game and mauling Ghana.
The Black Meteors also claimed a hard-fought 3-2 win over debutants Congo in their opening game on Sunday.
Ghana must now win the game against Guinea on Friday to leapfrog Guinea and qualify for the semifinals of the competition.
