Black Princesses attacker Mafia Nyame has set sights on progressing from the group stage at the 2024 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup in Colombia.

The team is currently in Cape Coast preparing for the much-anticipated tournament scheduled for next month in the South American country.

Ghana are paired with former champions, Japan, Austria and New Zealand in Group E.

And ahead of the tournament, Mafia Nyame has disclosed the team is poised to break the long-standing jinx of not advancing past the group stage at the World Cup.

“Preparation for the tournament has been awesome. The coaches are taking us through what they have to. I think everything is fine” she said.

When asked about the target of the team, she replied, “The target is to qualify from the group stage at the tournament”

The 11th edition of the FIAF U20 Women’s World Cup has been scheduled for Columbia from August 31 to September 22, 2024.
