2024 WAFU B U17 Cup of Nations: GFA has provided everything Black Starlets need to succeed – Frederick Acheampong

Published on: 15 May 2024

Black Starlets Management Committee chairman and Executive Council member, Frederick Acheampong, said the GFA has provided everything the team needs to succeed at the 2024 WAFU B U17 Cup of Nations.

Laryea Kingston's team will begin their journey today, Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at 4 pm, at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium.

The team hasn't made it to the tournament for seven years. They last qualified for the competition in 2017, securing second place and earning a spot in the World Cup.

Additionally, the team hasn't qualified for any of the last six U17 AFCONs, intensifying the pressure on them.

Speaking on their preparations for the competition so far, Acheampong was full of praise for how the GFA prepared the team for the competition.

“There is nothing that they have asked for and the Ghana Football Association president Kurt Okraku and his staff have not provided for them.

“They were camping at a hotel in East Legon with Nigeria. They said it was not comfortable for them. They were moved to a better and more comfortable hotel. The GFA and the government have provided everything they need.”
