England-based Ghana striker, Jordan Ayew was the hero for the Black Stars on Monday night as he scored a hat-trick to lead his country to a thrilling 4-3 win over Central African Republic.

Ghana hosted Central African Republic today in a Round 4 encounter in Group I of the African qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

In a game played at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, the Black Stars scored first in the 5th minute through a Jordan Ayew penalty kick expertly converted after Abdul Fatawu Issahaku was brought down in the box.

However, after the taking the lead, the Black Stars could not control the match.

This allowed the visitors to come in strong to score twice before the break. A brace from striker Louis Mafouta sent Central African Republic into the break with a 2-1 lead.

After recess, Jordan Ayew used his experience to lead the Black Stars to turn things around.

The Crystal Palace forward scored with his head in the 60th minute before turning the ball in from close range in the 69th minute to complete his hat-trick.

The other goal from the Black Stars was scored by Abdul Fatawu Issahaku.

Following the win, the Black Stars of Ghana are now top of the Group I standings of the African qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
