2026 World Cup qualifiers: Ghanaians hold reservations of Black Stars' chances despite manageable group

Published on: 13 July 2023

Ghanaians on social media are still not convinced the Black Stars can qualify for the 2026 World Cup with ease despite being handed a manageable group in the draw.

Ghana will battle it out with Mali, Madagascar, Central African Republic, Comoros, Chad, and Mali in Group I, with the top team qualifying automatically.

The best four third placed teams from the nine groups will compete in a mini tournament, with the winner set to fight for a slot in a continental playoff.

Despite being pitched in this group, Ghanaians still have reservations about the team toppin the group and qualifying for the United States of America, Mexico, and Canada tournament.

Emmanuel Ayamga said, "In a group containing Mali, Chad, Comoros, Central African Republic & Madagascar, Ghana should be securing automatic qualification to the 2026 World Cup, but these days the Black Stars aren’t good enough. Still, I expect them to top the group, even if it demands scrapping through".
