Leicester City manager Enzo Maresca is still critical in his assessment of Ghana winger Abdul Fatawu despite his impressive hat-trick in the team's 5-0 victory over Southampton.

Maresca emphasized that Fatawu, who played a pivotal role in the emphatic win, still has much to learn.

The victory on Tuesday night propelled the Foxes four points clear at the top of the Championship, placing them in a strong position for promotion to the Premier League.

Leicester needs just one win from their remaining two games to secure promotion, with the possibility of also ascending if Leeds United falter against QPR on Friday.

Speaking to BBC Radio Leicester, Maresca highlighted the challenges of managing young players.

"He's young, he needs to learn many things," Maresca told BBC Radio Leicester. The problem with young players is they are up and down.

"I just said to him that the next two games, he is going to be on the bench," the manager joked. "Otherwise, he'll start to shoot from everywhere, because he scored!"

Fatawu's impressive performance included neatly slotting the ball for Leicester's opening goal and curling in a shot from the edge of the area, showcasing his burgeoning talent.
