Aduana Stars have parted ways with Stephen Anokye Badu, Public Relations Officer of the club Evans Kwaku Oppong has confirmed.

Badu left the former Ghana Premier League champions following the expiration of his contract. He joined the Ogya lads from B.A United in 2015 and went on to establish himself as one of the best center backs in the top flight.

His mouthwatering performances earned him call-ups to the junior national teams.

In an interview with Cape Coast-based radio station ATL FM, the Public Relations Officer of Aduana Stars Evans Oppong confirmed the departure of the 22-year-old.

“It is true that Stephen Anokye Badu has willingly left Aduana Stars after the expiration of his contract,’’ he told ATL FM.

“In fact, we wanted to renew his contract but he insisted that he wants to leave so we had no option than to allow him go and find his replacement’’.

Meanwhile, football activities resume next month after the league was truncated following the airing of the Anas expose on corruption in Ghana football.
