Ghanaian striker Asamoah Gyan captained NorthEast United over the weekend when they drew 1-1 with Kerala Blasters in the Indian Super League (ISL).

The two Indian top-flight clubs locked horns at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on Match Week 10 of the campaign looking to grab 3 points to better their respective positions on the division standings.

Due to the unavailability of NorthEast United captain José David Leudo, Asamoah Gyan who is the vice-captain was handed the armband to lead his side from the tunnel.

At the end of a drama-filled encounter, the Black Stars legend found the back of the net from the penalty spot to cancel out a first-half strike from Bartholomew Ogbeche that had shot Kerala Blaster into the lead.

Both sides shared the spoils at the end of the 90 minutes with captain Asamoah Gyan lasting the entire duration of the game.
