Asante Kotoko midfielder Nicholas Mensah reacts after returning from one-year suspension

Asante Kotoko midfielder Nicholas Mensah has reacting after making a return from suspension to feature against Nsoatreman FC in the J.A Kufuor Cup.

Mensah lasted the entire duration as Kotoko came from behind to beat Nsoatreman FC at the Baba Yara Stadium last Sunday to lift the trophy.

Speaking to the club’s media, Mensah expressed joy following his return from suspension.

“This is my first 90 minutes after one-year. I didn’t expect to play the entire game against Nsoatreman. I’m gradually regaining my fitness and hope to prove my worth for the club. I wanted to announce my return in our game against Nsoatreman but it didn’t happen”

He is expected to play a huge role for the Porcupine Warriors in the second half of the Ghana Premier League campaign.

The Porcupine Warriors after shambolic start to the campaign, improved tremendously to finish third in the first half of the domestic top-flight campaign.

The Premier League bounces back this weekend and Kotoko will travel to face Heart of Lions in the week 18 fixture.

The talented midfielder was handed a 12 months ban after he was found guilty of having double identity.

Nicholas Mensah is the same player also registered as Louis Mensah with former team Damasua Delsanco FC.

Aduana FC filed the complaint against Asante Kotoko after their Ghana Premier League clash in 2023 February, insisting the Porcupine Warriors have fielded an unqualified player.

After weeks of checks by the Disciplinary Committee of the FA, it was found that Kotoko were not the guilty party and the player and Delsanco were charged.
