Asante Kotoko head Coach Maxwell Konadu has revealed that his side is not in the best of the shape for the start of the 2019/20 Ghana Premier League season.

The 47-year-old joined the Porcupine Warriors last week and has been tasked to win the GPL as well as qualify for the group stages of CAF Champions League.

According to the former assistant coach of the Black Stars, the team has to do more to get in shape ahead of the new season which kicks off on the weekend of December 27-29.

"Let me be honest with myself and our fans ,the team is not in the best of forms , I have monitored friendly matches played ,yes we win but we need to dominate and do more", he told Kumasi based radio station Oyerepa FM.

"At this stage , Kotoko should dominate all matches we play whether losing or winning. That's the level we want to get the team to then we get to winning ways.

"We should be recording 70% -30% ,60%-40% ball possession", he added.

Asante Kotoko will face Eleven Wonders at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in their league opener.
