AshGold coach John Christensen rallies support behind under fire referee Abdul Latif
AshantiGold SC head coach John Christensen has rallied his support behind referee Abdul Latif following his side’s 3-2 win over regional rival Asante Kotoko last Sunday.
The center referee, Abdul Latif received lots of backlash from the fans of Kotoko, but Coach John Christensen has defended Latif and believes it is easy to a be a referee in Ghana currently.
“I think he did his best. It was a difficult match for him. You know if he did his best, then what can you ask for more?" he said.
"I don’t say he did all, but he did his best, so yes."
“So if both teams want to fight, it’s difficult to be a referee. You know I actually don’t, I don’t care about the referee."
"It’s not easy to be a referee right now in Ghana because all these, to be frank, to be honest, all these idiots who have been cheating for so many years, now they are the only honest left”.
