AshGold’s James Akaminko adjudged MoTM in JAK Cup
Ashanti Gold SC midfielder James Akaminko was awarded Man of the match (MoTM) in ex-President John Agyekum Kuffour anniversary cup.
The young midfielder was instrumental as the Miners travelled home with a point after ending clash in extra time with a 1-1 stalemate at the Baba Yara stadium on Sunday.
The former Tema Youth playmaker creativity in the midfield role inspired the former Ghanaian champions to find an equalizer on the 68th minute of the game after the Porcupine Warriors took the lead through Emmanuel Gyamfi’s strike in the 58th minute.
The first epic encounter in Kumasi saw, James Akaminko awarded a flat screen television set as a prize to the man of the match.
The aforementioned anniversary cup was to commemorate the 80th birthday of the former head of state and chairman of Kumasi Asante Kotoko SC.
A return leg with take place next week to ensure one carriers home the giant trophy.
