Former Ghana international, CK Akonnor has urged players to assess their own abilities before joining Hearts of Oak or Asante Kotoko.
Players who have joined the two most glamorous clubs in recent times have failed to live up to expectations.
However, speaking to Graphic Sports in an interview, Akonnor encouraged players being pursued by Hearts of Oak or Asante Kotoko to assess their own abilities and determine if they could withstand the pressures associated with playing for those prestigious clubs before accepting to join them.
The former Black Stars coach also emphasised the importance of personal development and readiness before making such a significant career move.
In the ongoing 2023/24 Ghana Premier League, both clubs sit out of the top four despite their massive recruitment before the start of the season.
Hearts of Oak currently sit on the 13th on the Premier League log with 35 points while their sworn rivals, Asante Kotoko sit 10th with 40 points.
