Atletico Madrid identifies Denis Zakaria as potential Partey replacement
The Atletico Madrid hierarchy are preparing for the departure of Thomas Partey and have identified Borussia Mönchengladbach defensive midfielder Denis Zakaria as a potential replacement according to Mundo Deportivo.
Thomas Partey, 27, has been linked with a move to the Premier League this summer. Arsenal are favourites to secure his signature with Mikel Arteta keen to purchase the player. His current release clause stands at 50 million euros.
According to the Spanish newspaper, Atletico Madrid have already started talks with Zakaria's representatives. A deal is yet to be completed. There have been further reports that 30 million euros may be enough to prize Zakaria away from Germany.
Partey however is expected to make his next destination known by the end of the season. He has made 40 appearances in all competitions for the Spanish giants this season.
