Head coach for the Black Princesses of Ghana, Coach Yusif Basigi has noted that he is elated the government has given the green light for his team to start camping.

Following the banning of football activities since March, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on Sunday night announced that the Princesses have been given permission to train ahead of their international assignment.

“Our female U-20 and U-17 national football teams have been given the clearance to go into their respective training camps to begin preparations towards their FIFA and CAF international sanctioned matches which begin in September”, the president said.

Speaking to the Communications team of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Coach Yusif Basigi has shared his delight to the news.

“I am elated that finally the President, His Excellency Nana Akufo-Addo has eased the restrictions for us to begin camping. During the lockdown, I engaged the players individually to monitor their training via video recordings just to make sure their endurance level is not compromised. Now that we are to resume camping, I believe at least those exercises will help boost the teamwork quickly”, the gaffer said.

The Black Princesses will be preparing to take on Guinea-Bissau in a 2021 FIFA U-20 World Cup qualifier in September.
