Black Princesses not under pressure ahead of 2024 Women’s World Cup – Mafia Nyame

Black Princesses attacker Mafia Nyame says the team feel no pressure as they gear up for the 2024 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup.

The FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup is scheduled to take place in Colombia from Saturday, August 31 to Sunday, September 22, 2024.

The Black Princesses are in Group E and will face off against Australia, Japan, and New Zealand.

Speaking ahead of the tournament, Mafia Nyame insists the team is not under pressure to deliver at the World Cup.

“We are not under pressure. The technical team have been encouraging us in every aspect. We are in camp as a family so there is no pressure ahead of the tournament” he said.

The Black Princesses are set for their seventh consecutive World Cup participation and will be one of the four countries to represent Africa

Ghana has failed to advance from the group stage in their six previous attempt between 2012 and 2022.

But the team are poised to break the long-standing jinx of not advancing past the group stage at the World Cup this time.
