Black Starlets to conduct MRI tests before camping this week

Published on: 01 November 2023

The Ghana Football Association has commenced the first phase of screening for potential players for the Black Starlets (U-17). Selected individuals will undergo mandatory Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scans this week.

The Ghana junior national teams have suffered from overage players taking part in tournaments, with the recent ban on the Black Maidens the latest example.

This pre-camping MRI screening aims to ensure that only eligible players report to the Ghanaman Centre of Excellence at Prampram for camping.

The players in the initial two batches were chosen by the technical team following a nationwide scouting effort across the ten football regions.

Those who pass the MRI test will proceed to the Ghanaman Centre of Excellence for further training and camping.

The selected players must report to the MD Lancet – Quest Medical Imaging Centre at East Legon with their weighing cards or any acceptable national identification card to verify their credentials.

The test dates are scheduled as follows:

First batch: Thursday, November 02, 2023, from 10 am to 3 pm

Second batch: Friday, November 03, 2023, from 10 am to 3 pm.
