Bowen could play as striker all season - Moyes

Bowen started up front for West Ham against Fulham in the Premier League at the weekend

West Ham manager David Moyes says he is ready to play Jarrod Bowen as a centre-forward for the rest of the season.

Winger Bowen has been deputising as a striker in place of the injured Michail Antonio, and is West Ham's top scorer this season with 10 goals

The England international is set to start up front against Freiburg in Thursday's Europa League match.

"I do see it as an option going forward," Moyes said of Bowen playing as a number nine all season.

"It's been difficult for lots of clubs to buy centre-forwards for the right price and there's not many on the market.

"I think Jarrod has been able to step in while Michail [Antonio] has been injured. He's scored goals and played very well up front.

"There's a bit of flexibility with Jarrod at the moment. I think, the way wide players play now, more goals are expected of them. I think Jarrod can do both though."

West Ham have booked their place in the Europa League knockout round, but will still go straight through to the last 16 if they draw at home to Freiburg.
