CAF confed cup: Obuasi Ashanti Gold return to Ghana following stalemate with Akonangui FC

Ghana Premier League side Obuasi Ashanti Gold has returned home following their CAF Confederations Cup match against Equatorial Guinea side Akonangui FC which ended 1-1 at Ebebiyín.  

Nicknamed the Miners, Ashgold is set to break for a couple of days before resuming training on Wednesday to start preparations for the second leg of the encounter.

According to reports, the two-day break confirmed by Head coach Ricardo Da Rocha is to give his squad enough rest to ensure they return to the field well refreshed.

The second leg of the encounter with Akonangui FC will be played on 25 August 2019 at the Obuasi Len Clay Sports Stadium.

AshantiGold will need to capitalize on their away goal in order to progress into the second stage of the CAF Confederations Cup.
