Asante Kotoko head coach Charles Kwablan Akunnor has pleaded with the supporters of the club to avoid unnecessary pressure on his players ahead of their CAF Confederation Cup clash against Zesco United on Wednesday.

The Reds will welcome the Zambian giants in the match-day two of the Confederation Cup CAF group stage at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.

The teeming fans of the Porcupine Warriors have urged their players to win against Zesco United after losing 1-0 to Al Hilal in Omdurman.

Speaking at the pre-match conference, the 44-year-old gaffer begged his fans to devoid such "unnecessary pressure" on his players, emphasizing that they know what is at stake.

"I don't want too much pressure on the players. Of course, they know what is as take. They know they've to deliver in terms of winning. However I don't want too much pressure on them," C.K Akonnor said at the pre-match conference.

"They've done enough but we've to continue with the work. They're now on a different level. First, it was a knock out stage and now we're in a league process. We lost our first match so I believe at the back of their mind they know they have to win," he ended.
