Coach Nii Odoom rates Hearts of Oak’s performance against Aduana Stars; insists team must work on finishing

Interim coach for Hearts of Oak Edward Nii Odoom has given the performance of his team against Aduana Stars in the Ghana Premier League a rating of 75-80%.

In what was a Match Week 9 fixture of the ongoing 2019/2020 season, the Phobians put up an impressive performance at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park to try and amass the maximum points.

At the end of the 90 minutes however, they were forced to share the spoils with the home team after squandering a number of chances.

In a post-match interview, Hearts of Oak’s interim coach Edward Nii Odoom commended his players for playing to his tactics. According to him, his team was tactically on top but it was unfortunate they couldn’t win the match.

“We came with a plan that we win the 3 points to apiece our fans. I will rate them 75-80% because they did what is right on the pitch. Tactically you could see that we were ahead of our opponent in all departments of the game”, the coach said.

He added, “We hit the bar twice. We had chances to score so am not happy about the results. We need the points very badly because of the draw against Ashanti Gold. We will work on it [finishing]. We are still on it and it [the goals] will come”.
