The president of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has dissolved the Ghana Football Association after Tiger Eye PI aired the rampant bribery and corruption in Ghana football.

The dissolution comes 24 hours after the public screening of the documentary dubbed "Number 12" at the Accra International Conference Center.

The President of the Ghana Football Association who also doubles as a FIFA Council Member was filmed collecting $65,000 from 'investors' to influence the president, vice-president and the roads minister to get road contracts.

The country's football governing body has been reduced to ridicule and severe trolling on social media.

The statement was signed and released by the Minister of Information, Mustapha Abdul Hamid on Thursday evening.

However, dissolution is likely to attract a FIFA ban as it rules obliges member associations to manage their own affairs "independently and with no influence from third parties."

FIFA banned Nigeria in 2014 after its High Court disbanned the Football Association after a poor showing at the World Cup in Brazil.

A ban would mean no Ghanaian team, including club sides, can play in regional, continental or international competitions.

Mr Nyantakyi is currently under investigation for defrauding by false pretence.
