Democracy Cup: We are winning the trophy - Hearts of Oak defender Kelvin Osei Asibey ahead of Kotoko clash

Hearts of Oak defender Kelvin Osei Asibey has expressed strong confidence in his outfit chances of upsetting Asante Kotoko in the upcoming Democracy Cup.

The much-anticipated game between the two most glamourous clubs in the country is set for Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at the Accra Sports Stadium. The game will kick off at 6pm.

This match commemorates 30 years of Democratic practice in the West Africa country.

Speaking to Kessben FM, as followed by Footballghana.com, Asibey expressed his sides readiness to beat their opponent to lift the trophy.

“There is nothing like friendly in matches involving Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko. It’s a Cup game between Hearts and Kotoko, definitely, there will be tension. Both teams are preparing to win the game on Wednesday. We are not taking the game lightly”

Asked if Hearts of Oak are going to win the trophy, he replied, “For sure. We are preparing well for the game. We are looking at winning the game”

Meanwhile, Asante Kotoko recorded a back to back wins over Hearts of Oak during the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League campaign.

Before the game, parliamentarians and former Black Stars players will compete at the same venue as part of the activities to thrill fans.
