The Still Believe lads made history by qualifying for the quarter-finals of the competition for the first time ever, despite losing their final group game against Rivers United.

The Ghana champions succumbed to a 2-1 defeat in Nigeria on Sunday but progressed to the next stage of the competition.

Dreams FC and Rivers United advanced to the next stage with 12 points each, while Club Africain were eliminated with 10 points.

The Tunisian club missed out after playing out a 1-1 draw on home turf against Academica do Lobito.

“Our first objective was to win or draw, but our main purpose was to qualify. Now that we have achieved our goal, we won't talk about the scores anymore. We are heading back home to prepare for the second stage of the competition” he said.

The reigning FA Cup champions becomes the first Ghanaian club to reach the quartefinals of the Confederations since 2004, when Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak had their legendary runs to the final.
