Mary Earps named BBC Women's Footballer of the Year 2023

England's Mary Earps and Manchester City's Ederson are among the final three nominees for the Best Fifa Goalkeeper awards.

Manchester United's Earps, 30, won the Golden Glove award for best goalkeeper as England reached the final in August.

Spain's World Cup winner Catalina Coll and West Ham's Australia keeper Mackenzie Arnold are also in contention for the women's prize.

Ederson, Yassine Bounou and Thibaut Courtois are vying for the men's award.

The winners will be announced at The Best Fifa Football Awards 2023 on 15 January 2024 in London.

Earps was voted the BBC Women's Footballer of the Year last month.

She has enjoyed a stellar year for club and country, keeping 14 clean sheets for Manchester United in 2022-23 - a Women's Super League record - as the Red Devils finished second.

Brazil's Ederson helped Manchester City win the Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup during a triumphant 2022-23.

The awards recognise the top-performing players and coaches in the men's and women's game in 2023, and also feature prizes for fair play, best goal of the year and a Fifa fan award.

The nominees for the 2023 awards were announced in September.
