Ghanaian international Emmanuel Lomotey sustained an injury last Saturday while in action for Extremadura in the Spanish lower division against Malaga.

The midfielder earned a starting role in what was a Matchday 34 fixture of the La Liga 2.

He finished off the first half on the back of an impressive display even though Extremadura trailed by a goal to nil courtesy a strike from Armando Sadiku.

In the second half, Lomotey bossed the midfield for the first 20 minutes before unfortunately suffering an injury blow on the 68th minute.

After being examined by the medics, it was agreed that he could not continue and hence he made way for David Rocha.

In his absence, his teammates fought on and managed to earn a point against Malaga at the end of the 90 minutes on the back of a one-all draw.

Due to the injury, Emmanuel Lomotey is expected to miss Extremadura's clash against Real Zaragoza on Tuesday, June 23, 2020.
