Former Asante Kotoko winger Ollenu Ashitey has taken a swipe at management for the signing of Brazilian midfielder, Fabio Gama Dos Santos, claiming it’s a waste of money.

Gama, a former player of the Brazil U-20 team joined the Porcupine Warriors as a free agent and signed a two years deal with the club.

The 28-year-old player has been registered as part of Kotoko’s contingents to compete in this season's Ghana Premier League and CAF Champions League campaign and has been handed the famous number 10 jersey which has been worn by some of the great players at the club.

A session of Ghanaians have raised concerns about the acquisition of the player and the former Hearts of Oak player believes his signing won't help the club.

Speaking to Energy FM, Ollenu Ashitey who currently ply his trade for Techiman Eleven Wonders observed that, “Signing Fabio Gama is a waste of money. Kotoko’s recruitment is poor. They don’t give the player’s time to settle and grow. Sacking players every season is their major problem”

Fabio Gama is expected to make his debut for Kotoko in their trip to Berekum for matchday two against Chelsea.
