FIFA Women U-17 WC: Black Maidens break camp over rise in Covid-19 cases in host nation

The Ghana U-17 women’s national team, the Black Maidens have broken camp following India’s decision to pull out of hosting the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.

Indian has originally held the hosting rights for the global tournament which has been scheduled to be played next year.

In a latest development, the country has reportedly pulled out of the tournament due to the situation of the Coronavirus pandemic.

With that decision bringing up uncertainty to the tournament, CAF is understood to have postponed upcoming qualifying matches.

In line with that, the game between the Ghana U-17 team and their counterpart from Nigeria will have to wait.

Acting in accordance with the news, the Ghana FA has asked the Black Maidens team to break camp until further notice.

Meanwhile, it is understood that the Ghana U-20 women’s national team, the Black Princesses have also been asked to break camp for a while.
