Former Ghana youth star Eric Ayiah has set sights on scoring more goals for CD Trofense after netting his debut goal at the weekend when his side succumbed to a 3-2 defeat against Sanjoanense.

Ayiah was called to action when Trofense locked horns with Sanjoanense in the week 10 of the Portuguese lower-tier at the weekend.

The first half of the game ended in a pulsating goalless draw, as both teams struggled to find the back of the net.

The former Ghana youth star broke the deadlock for the visitors from the spot seven minutes into the second half of the game.

Portugal international Bernardo Fontes scored to draw Sanjoanense level in the 69th minute mark before Pedro Martins scored to put the home team in front in the 82nd minute.

Trofense fought back to draw level through Nuno Jorge Pereira da Silva Valente in the 86th minute but Sanjoanense proved their worth after grabbing the match winner in added time through Daniel Santos.

“Determination always leads to success. Together as a team as always and will always be. First of many goals to come” he wrote on X.

The 23-year-old Ghanaian forward has now scored one goal in three games for Trofense in the Portuguese third-tier.

Ayiah joined Trofense in October 2023, signing a contract that will keep him at the club until 2025.
