Former Asante Kotoko winger Francis Akwafo lauds club’s recruitment
Former Asante Kotoko winger Francis Akwafo has expressed satisfaction with the clubs recruitment in the ongoing transfer window.
Following a disappointing season where they finished sixth, Kotoko have significantly revamped their squad, parting ways with over 20 players and bringing in twelve new recruits, who are mainly top-flight players.
Speaking to Kessben FM, as followed by Footballghana.com, Akwafo asserted the Ghanaian giants has made the best of signings in this transfer window.
“Kotoko have made the best of signings this window as compared to last season. Players recruited in this window are best because they’ve made names for themselves and are matured. We’ve also got foreign players who are also good. In all, I will say the club’s recruitment this time has been better than last season”
“I watched them play against Hearts of Oak in the Democracy Cup and I realized the players are matured and knows how to play. It’s just about knowing themselves well and they are good to go”
The club is in the midst of their pre-season preparations, which include a friendly match against Medeama SC on Friday, August 16, at the new TNA Stadium.
