Young Ghanaian midfielder, Frank Adei Jr., stood out as the star player in the Swedish top flight this weekend, earning the man of the match award for his team IFK Varnamo in their close 1-0 win against Sirius.
Adei, 20, delivered a stellar performance in his third appearance for Varnamo at the Studenternas IP Stadium (Uppsala) on Saturday, contributing significantly to his team's first victory of the Swedish premier league season.
Playing the full 90 minutes, the skilful Ghanaian midfielder was rated 4.4/5 after the game, securing him the man of the match title.
Formerly with Bibiani Gold Stars and Star Madrid FC, Adei is expected to continue his impressive form and play a pivotal role as IFK Varnamo aims for a respectable position in the league standings.
Head coach Anes Mravac praised Adei for his outstanding performance, which played a crucial part in Varnamo's first win of the season.
Varnamo FC had a slow start to the new season in Sweden, but this weekend's victory has lifted them out of the relegation zone after four games.
