Forson Amankwah set to depart RB Salzburg amid European interest

Ghanaian midfielder Forson Amankwah is set to leave RB Salzburg this summer, according to reports in Austria.

The 21-year-old Ghanaian midfielder has garnered interest from clubs in England, Germany, France, and Belgium.

Forson Amankwah joined Salzburg from Ghanaian club WAFA SC during the 2021 winter break and initially played for the U-18 side of the Red Bull Academy, making five appearances and scoring three goals. Amankwah also featured for co-operation Second League outfit FC Liefering, with 29 appearances, six goals, and eight assists.

At the start of the 2021/22 season, Forson Amankwah went on loan to Austrian Bundesliga club Sportclub Rheindorf Altach, where he made 18 appearances, scoring two goals and providing five assists.

Amankwah returned to Salzburg six months later and extended his contract with the club in October 2023 until 2027. In the 2023/24 season, the attacker made 25 appearances, scoring four goals and providing three assists. According to Transfermarkt, Forson Amankwah's current market value is €5,000,000.
