Ghana and Saudi Arabia FAs collaborate to enhance capacity of referees at FIFA Referees Workshop in Jeddah

The Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF) and Ghana Football Association (GFA) showcased their strong collaboration during a FIFA Referees Workshop in Jeddah.

SAFF hosted the three-day event, focusing on enhancing refereeing standards and fostering knowledge exchange.

Ghanaian referees Bless Yao Selorm and Juliet Appiah participated alongside Saudi Pro League counterparts from May 2-4. The workshop was praised as beneficial by all involved.

Manuel Navarro, SAFF's Referees Committee Chairman, highlighted the workshop's importance in advancing the football ecosystem.

The event aimed to develop exceptional referees capable of making informed decisions.

The final session of the 2023/24 season prepared participants for continued growth in the 2024/25 season. Topics included VAR, awareness, consistency, and practical training exercises with players.

Navarro expressed enthusiasm for future referee-centric workshops, emphasizing the collaboration between SAFF and GFA.

“We share the same enthusiasm as our friends at the Ghanian Football Association for many more referee-centric workshops moving forward.“

Muhammad Koussa, Chairman of the Syrian Football Association's Referees Committee, also attended, highlighting the ongoing partnership between SAFF and SFA.
