Ghana coach Otto Addo will consider home-based players in the Black Stars ahead of the 2026 World Cup qualification games against Mali and Central Africa Republic.

The Black Stars will travel to face Mali at Stade 26 Mars in Bamako on June 6 before hosting Central Africa Republic at the Baba Yara Stadium on June 10, 2024.

Otto Addo is expected to arrive in Ghana next week before he will announce his squad for the much-anticipated games slated for June.

Assistant coach John Paintsil has been monitoring home-based players in a bid to get quality players for the national team for subsequent assignment.

Paintsil has been to several match venues including Dawu, Kumasi, Accra and the Brong Ahafo region, noting down several potential players for the Black Stars for close monitoring and assessment.

With five games to end the campaign, Paintsil is expected to intensify his player monitoring.

According to reports, Paintsil has briefed Otto Addo about potentials in the Ghana Premier League and could consider some home-based players ahead of the qualifiers.

Ghana are 4th in Group I after winning one and drawing one in their opening two games of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
